함양 거연정 咸陽 居然亭

함양 거연정 咸陽居然亭 Geoyeonjeong in Hamyang

3월 31일 포항 출장길 거창까지는 국도를 이용 진안-장수-함양을 경유했다. 함양 동호정을 앞에 두고 거연정에서 잠시 쉬어 간다.

함양 거연정

함양 거연정(居然亭)는 경상남도 함양군 서하면에 있는남강천 암반위에 조선후기 동지중추부사 전시서가 건립한 정자로 경상남도 시도유형문화재 제433호로 2005년 10월 13일 지정되었다.

고려 말 전오륜의 7대손 가선대부 동지중추부사를 지낸 화림재 전시서（全時敍）선생이 처음 터를 잡은 것을 추모하기 위하여 1872년 화림재 선생의 7대손인 진사 전재학, 전계진 등이 건립 하였으며 1901년 중수가 있었다.

 

거연정은 정면 3칸，측면 2칸 규모의 중층 누각 건물로 내부에는 벽체（뒷벽）를 판재로 구성한 판방을 1칸 두고 있으며, 겹처마에 합각지붕 형식으로 하천내의 자연암반 위에 조성된 정자 건물로 주변의 뛰어난 경관과 멋진 조화를 이루고 있는 것으로 ”자연에 내가 거하고，내가 자연에 거하니” 길손들의 발길을 멈추게 하고 세상일을 잊게 하는 곳이다.

Bongjeon-ri, Seoha-myeon, Hamyang-gun In the late Koryo Dynasty, Jeon O-Ryuns seventh generation descendant Hwalimjae Jeon Si-seo had a high political career. In memory of his staying here, his seventh descendant Jeon Jae-hak, Jeon Gye-jin and his fellows constructed this Geoyeonjeong in 1872 and rebuilded it in 1901.

Geoyeonjeong is a middle-storied building which has three front chambers and two side chambers. It has a board-room with back walls made of board materials. The double layered eaves with Half-Hipped Roof form is a pavilion built on natural bedrocks inside the river. They have a grand natural view in great harmony with surroundings.
